Bionic Power Inc. is a Canadian, privately held company that addresses the rapidly growing market for mobility assistance in patients with knee pathologies and both military and consumer use for endurance enhancement.

The Agilik medical device targets pediatric patients with crouch gait due to various pathologies such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and other knee-extension-deficiency disorders whose strength and endurance often deteriorate as they get older.

The Amplify device will be used by the military, emergency responders, and consumers to reduce fatigue and/or charge batteries.

Agilik

The Agilik smart orthosis serves as a gait rehabilitation device that functions by moving along with the wearer, providing dynamic assistance and resistance to the knee during the patient’s gait. It specifically aids individuals with crouch gait by promoting better posture, increasing muscle strength, and improving walking efficiency and independence. Unlike an exoskeleton, the Agilik is not designed to carry and walk for the patient but instead serves as a light, comfortable, and easy-to-use orthosis similar to a knee, ankle, foot orthosis (KAFO) that enhances the user’s gait. Its primary goal is to rehabilitate the user’s walking ability rather than simply supporting their weight.

Amplify

The Bionic Power Amplify™ is an innovative non-medical exoskeleton that uses titanium, carbon fiber, and Pebax, among other materials, to create a lightweight and versatile leg-based device. Equipped with a hybrid algorithm and motor/generator, it not only enhances endurance by reducing fatigue but also generates a dependable source of electricity (up to 12W) while walking, without impeding natural movement. The Amplify™ is expected to be utilized by various groups, including the military, emergency responders, and consumers, to alleviate fatigue and/or charge batteries.
